This weekend’s Dublin Pride Parade will see a 40-foot Tesco delivery truck take part as a float, featuring its own DJ, dance floor, bubble machines, and a crowd cheerometer on board. Tesco colleagues proudly wearing their bespoke “Bursting with Pride” t-shirts will hand out sweets, ponchos and rainbow roses along the parade route.

Nine Tesco stores along the Dublin parade route will also turn their iconic Tesco chevrons to the rainbow colours of Pride for the weekend to show their support. Eleven Tesco stores across Dublin city centre will also display rainbow bunting and posters, as well as selling rainbow roses to celebrate the festival.

“We know that Dublin Pride is such a fun and vibrant event,” says Geraldine Casey, people director at Tesco Ireland, “so we’re really proud that over 150 of our colleagues will be taking part in the parade with our stores along the route getting into the spirit too with special Pride-themed branding and Pride in-store activations.”

The Parade will start at Stephen’s Green South and end in Smithfield Square where there will be family fun at the Pride Village.

Tesco Ireland also aims to keep spirits up for parade stewards by donating 3,000 bottles of water and fresh bananas for the celebrations at the Pride Village while the hardworking volunteer stewards will also receive generous Tesco lunch bags on the day.

The Dublin Pride Parade commences at 2pm on Saturday 24 June.
