The Teeling Whiskey Distillery in Dublin city has been awarded top honours at the 2018 Global Distillery Masters, in the Consumer Experience category. The awards recognise the world’s finest distilleries across the entire spirits sector.  The distillery was also named 2016 Visitor Attraction of the Year at Whisky Magazine’s Icons of Whisky Rest of World Awards.

Entrants in the Global Distillery Masters are assessed on their customer experience, production innovation, digital and social media and environmental initiatives. The competition has been designed to recognise the growing importance of tourism, creativity and technical merit in the industry. Silver, Gold and the overall top honour, Master Medals, are awarded in each category.

Teeling Whiskey, in Dublin’s historic Liberties region, was the first new distillery to open in the city in more than 125 years. Since then it has become a major tourist destination, contributing to the ongoing revival of the area.  Since 2015, it has welcomed over 250,000 visitors through its doors while producing up to 600,000 litres of spirit each year.

Jack Teeling, founder of the Teeling Whiskey Company said the company is honoured with the award. “This is a fantastic achievement for us, and is a testament to the distillery experience we offer out visitors. “We’re extremely proud of our hardworking team and what we have achieved in this short space of time.”
