Taste 4 Success Skillnet is delighted to announce the return of its BrandBite – Building Your Brand for Business Success programme.

This impactful upskilling programme, designed for food and drink producers, is an initiative from Taste 4 Success Skillnet, one of 70 Skillnet Ireland business networks nationwide, in collaboration with The art of GRATE food, and Blas na hÉireann/Irish Food Awards, the network noted.

BrandBite is ‘designed specifically for food and drink producers in the Republic of Ireland who are eager to build their brand, stand out in the market, and drive business success’.

Elevating brands

The programme provides valuable insights, strategic brand-building tools, and expert guidance, helping participants refine their messaging and identify what makes their brand unique.

Launching BrandBite 2025, Bridie Corrigan Matthews, network director at Taste 4 Success Skillnet, said: “BrandBite has already made a real impact in supporting Irish food and drink producers to elevate their brands.

“We’re thrilled to bring it back for 2025, offering a tailored experience to help businesses strengthen their brand identity, connect with their audience, and ultimately grow their sales and demonstrate excellent peer-to-peer learning supporting artisan, micro and SME businesses in the food, seafood and beverage sector.”

Taste 4 Success Skillnet mission

The mission of the Taste 4 Success Skillnet is to ‘grow Ireland’s reputation as a leading location for food and drink production by developing the skills base and supporting enterprise growth and competitiveness through highly specialised training’.

The network noted that it supports food production and service businesses of all sizes, including micro and artisan producers.

Aine Faughnan, managing director, Leitrim’s Dromod Boxty, said: “I found taking part in the BrandBite programme very beneficial as it helped me to refine elements of my storytelling to make sure it got across accurately to my customers and to future customers.

“I would recommend anybody that is thinking about going through a rebrand to consider this programme as it gives you an outsider perspective.”

What the micro and artisan producers said:

Speaking about his experience taking part in the 2024 BrandBite programme, Cork’s Steve Guiney, Original 7 Beverage Co, said: “I loved every part of the process especially getting down into the nuts and bolts of what we had created already and what was working and what wasn’t.

“We also were able to refine our own brand story as well with Neworld which I found extremely helpful.”

Ann Rudden from Cavan’s Aine’s Chocolate shared her experience participating in the 2024 BrandBite programme.

“As a result of taking part in BrandBite last year, I have now strategically repositioned the Aine’s Chocolate brand around its core USP, which is ‘truly handmade chocolate,’ she said.

“I would absolutely recommend it to any food or drink business in Ireland wishing to clarify what their brand stands for to capitalise on existing and new markets.”

In Co Meath Roll It Pastry’s Mairead Finnegan described the 2024 BrandBite programme as an “interesting journey.”

She said: “It gave me the opportunity to zone in on the emotional connection to home baking, the practicality of frozen convenience, whilst also strengthening the company’s brand identity and fully embracing our key differentiator, which is all Irish butter.”

Brand and marketing experts

BrandBite 2025 brings together some of Ireland’s leading brand and marketing experts.

Annie Dunne, who has worked with the likes of Kerry Foods and Harrods, and is the founder of The art of GRATE food, a food consultancy; Pat Kinsley, one of the original Brand Thinkers in Ireland and founder of Neworld and Sharon Noonan who produces and hosts the Best Possible Taste, Ireland’s longest running food and drink radio show and podcast.

The 15-week BrandBite programme equips food and drink producers with a comprehensive brand toolkit, providing them with the confidence and know-how to effectively communicate their brand and product offering to buyers and consumers alike.

Through interactive workshops and one-to-one training, participants will gain invaluable skills to position their brand for success in a competitive market.

The deadline for applications for BrandBite 2025 is Monday 31 March.
