It may be early but Superquinn is ready for Christmas, and invited a handful from amongst the Irish press on 1 October to sample its festive fare. The range features 150 own brand product lines, including 20 in the SQ (Superior Quality) collection.

The retailer worked with over 30 producers and suppliers to develop the 2008 range, combining traditional festive products with a range of 50 new, innovative lines. In addition, over 90% of Superquinn’s own brand Christmas products were reared, grown and produced in Ireland.

New this year, the SQ range has a Ballotine of Turkey, Chicken and Duck, in an oven ready tray, which serves 10-12 people, and also Wild Pheasant (600g), Guinea Fowl (1.3kg), and dry cure rashers for roasting.

Especially good in the launch, the Irish-grown ‘Trafalgar’ sweeter variety of brussel sprouts, exclusive to Superquinn, joins the prepared vegetable ranges including Christmas Roasting Vegetables with Honey, and Butternut Squash & Feta with pumpkin seeds and olive oil, all of which was delivered to restaurant standards at the launch in the Merrion Hotel.
