Gardai are seeking a suspect after a Tesco Express on Fairyhouse Road, Ratoath, Co. Meath. On Friday night around 7.20pm, a masked man entered the premises, where he threatened and assaulted staff before absconding with a sum of cash.

One staff member suffered minor injuries in the incident, while no customer was harmed.

Gardai said the raider is believed to be in his late 20s or early 30s, about 5’11” and of strong build. He wored a “beetroot” coloured jumper and a red t-shirt, and wore a black mask during the robbery.

Gardai appealed for witnesses who may have seen the man before or after the robbery; anyone with information is asked to contact Ashbourne Garda Station on 01-801-0600.
