Ahead of the Irish Quality Food & Drink Awards, which take place next month at the Round Room in Dublin’s Mansion House, two Spar Select products have made the shortlist.

The Awards set out to recognise excellence in food and drink development across a wide variety of Irish companies, and are arranged into two sections, Quality Food Awards and Quality Drink Awards, and were open to all food and drink manufacturers across the Republic and Northern Ireland.

Spar Select Handmade Crisps and Spar Select Gluten Free Porridge were selected for the prestigious ceremony’s finalists following a judging round at the Dublin Institute of Technology’s School of Culinary Arts and Food Technology.

BWG’s managing director Willie O’Byrne says he is delighted to see Spar’s premium products recognised. “A lot of hard work and research has gone into producing the Spar Select range,” he said, “and it is testament to this that they have been named as finalists at these awards.
