Spar makes donation of over €517,000 to official charity partner

Spar Ireland and its independent retailers recently handed a whopping €517,139 donation to their official charity partner, Make-A-Wish Ireland, for monies raised through a variety of fundraising initiatives, as well as collection boxes in more than 400 Spar stores nationwide and a donation on selected Spar Own Brand products.
Chosen by Spar retailers, Make-A-Wish Children’s Charity grants the wishes of children aged between three and 17 years living with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.
“As Make-A-Wish’s official charity partner, all our independent retailers are passionate about supporting this very important cause,” said Colin Donnelly, Spar sales director.
“Helping make the wishes of seriously ill children come true is a way to give hope and strength for their individual journeys and we are proud to play whatever part we can.”
Since 1992, Make-A-Wish Ireland has granted wishes for more than 2,500 brave children across the country and donations like those of Spar Ireland helps them fulfil those wishes, as Make-A-Wish CEO Susan O’Dwyer commented: “The contributions from Spar truly make a difference and help up grant the Wishes of seriously ill children. We are very grateful to Spar and their retailers for their wonderful support.”
