Smaller treats, big news for parents

A new range of smaller portion treats from brands such as Smarties, Rowntree’s Jelly Alien, Milkybar and Animal Bar, has been launched by Nestlé Ireland. To coincide with the launch, a survey carried out on behalf of Nestlé reveals that nine out of 10 Irish parents regularly provide small sweet treats for their 4 -11 year olds to encourage good behaviour or as a reward for helping around the home. The survey of mums and dads also shows almost eight out to 10 parents (79%) admit to sharing the actual treat themselves with their child – with almost half (48%) saying it helps them to teach their children to share.
