Rosie & Jim expands Dublin facility by 70% amid growing demand

Irish gluten-free chicken brand Rosie & Jim is investing in a multi-million euro expansion and tripling production to keep up with growing demand in Ireland, the UK and Germany

Rosie & Jim have announced that they are expanding, adding a major, multi-million euro project to the factory in Dublin 12.
The expansion, which will increase the footprint by 70%, tripling production, paves the way for more fans to enjoy their award-winning products.
The family business, founded by Jimmy and Rosie McLoughlin in 1997, which employs 70 people here in Ireland has gone from strength to strength over the past two decades, aided in no small part by the ‘game-changing’ decision to move to gluten free products in 2015, as well as the brand’s unwavering commitment to superior taste and premium quality.
Family-owned brand
When it comes to quality, great tasting, gluten-free breaded chicken, Rosie & Jim is the name on everyone’s lips.
As the 2024 ‘FreeFrom’ Champion winner, the Irish, family-owned brand has captured the hearts (and taste buds) of food lovers, not only amongst its growing fan base here in Ireland, but across the UK and Germany too, with its delicious range of premium products in both chilled and frozen varieties.
The demand is soaring for its premium quality, hugely-convenient products, which include all-time favourites like Garlic Chicken Kievs and Southern Fried Chicken Goujons, as well as tantalising creations, like their famed Salt & Chilli Shredded Chicken (perfect for creating your own spice bag at home!).
Quality range
“We pride ourselves on offering the best quality and tastiest range of products, just like you would make at home, but better,” said Jimmy McLoughlin, managing director, Rosie & Jim.
Jimmy and his wife Rosie, started this business 27 years ago when he was just 27 years old.
“Irish and international consumer demand for high-quality, clean-label products continues apace and we love developing delicious, innovative products, such as our Battered Chicken Chunks, that will excite our fans, inspire families to try new dishes and leave them wanting more,” noted Jimmy McLoughlin.
Awards
Rosie & Jim also recently added to its impressive awards cabinet.
In addition to scooping the ‘2024 FreeFrom Champion’ award at the prestigious FreeFrom Food Awards, the brand was awarded three Gold Medals and one Silver Medal.
The brand was also recognised at the Family Business Awards 2024, where Sean McLoughlin, operations manager at Rosie & Jim, received silver in the Rising Star Award.
“We love that the Rosie & Jim range has switched any out-dated perception that ‘gluten-free’ would be a taste compromise,” said Rosie McLoughlin, brand manager, Rosie & Jim.
Driving growth
According to Rosie, the winning combination of the fan favourite products, innovation, taste, quality and clean label credentials is driving its growth.
“I’m excited to share our brand and products with even more consumers during this exciting period of expansion,” Rosie McLoughlin noted.
The Rosie & Jim range of frozen and chilled products are available from Tesco, Dunnes, Supervalu, Eurospar, Spar and Mace in Ireland.
A wider range of Rosie & Jim products are also available through a large network of butchers shops nationwide.
