Paul Dunne named National Retail Manager 2014
Top grocery retail managers celebrated at ShelfLife GRAM Awards 2014 in association with The Irish Times
30 May 2014
Paul Dunne, manager of SuperValu in The Pavilions Shopping Centre, Swords, Co, Dublin has won National Retail Manager of the Year at the ShelfLife GRAM Awards last night (29 May). The ShelfLife Grocery Retail Management Awards, in association with The Irish Times, are the only awards to highlight exceptional managers, all across the country, at the heart of the Irish grocery sector.
The ShelfLife GRAM Awards demonstrate the huge opportunity for graduates looking to begin a long and successful career in grocery retail. As another batch of students start looking towards career options, it is imperative to highlight the multitude of career options available in the Irish FMCG sector.
The judges said of winner Paul Dunne: "He is an example of an exemplary retail career. He manages a modern 24,000 square foot supermarket, with 158 staff and over 24,000 customers a week. While overseeing the daily running of the store he has taken the store through a business changeover while fighting off local competition and the introduction of hard discounters to his area."
Publisher of ShelfLife John McDonald said: "The calibre of retail managers that enter these awards is outstanding. They are the cream of the crop and the work they do to drive sales, drive performance and drive their staff to achieve is worth celebrating. ShelfLife is delighted to be showcasing Irish grocery managers at our annual GRAM awards."
