An innovative campaign to encourage shoppers to use their local shops more has gained support from some leading magazine titles.
Advertisements for the NFRN’s ‘Shop Local, Shop Little’ campaign have recently appeared in some of the UK’s top-selling lifestyle magazines published by Bauer Media Group.
Take a Break, Bella, That’s Life and TV Choice have all backed the campaign, which was created to encourage people to shop locally and sensibly during the coronavirus pandemic.
Shop Local, Shop Little adverts have also gained national newspaper coverage – appearing in various titles including the Sunday Mirror, People, Daily Express, Daily Star, Daily Mirror, Sunday Star, Daily Mail and The Daily Telegraph.
The NFRN launched the Shop Local, Shop Little campaign in response to panic buying at supermarkets amid the coronavirus outbreak.
It reminds customers that independent stores are still open for business and that it is important to support their local stores, particularly during these unprecedented times.
“We are delighted that thousands of readers will be encouraged to shop locally,” said NFRN national president Stuart Reddish.
“These unprecedented times have proven how essential and convenient independent stores are,” Reddish added. “Store owners and employees are continuing to risk their lives so that the members of their communities can get their essentials, and it is so important that they get the recognition and support that they deserve.”
