The Radisson Blu Hotel, Golden Lane, Dublin 8 will host the event, which will be open to the trade from 2 - 6pm, and to consumers from 6.30 - 8.30pm

New Zealand Winegrowers will host its 25th annual tasting of New Zealand wines in Ireland in May 2022.  With over 100 New Zealand wines available to taste, this year there will be a number of features, including a market update and themed tables for the trade tasting:

New Zealand wines have a great following here in Ireland. In 2020, New Zealand sold 706,010 cases of wines on the Irish market, rising to 7% of the total market of 10 million cases.  (Source:  Irish Wine Association Sept 2021).

Figures for the retail wine sector in Ireland on a MAT basis, for the period to March 2021, show the market for New Zealand wine in the off-trade grew for both volume and value sales. According to Scantrack, the MAT volume figure for New Zealand wine to March 2021 amounted to 7.4% of total volume sales and 9.0% of value sales. On an MAT basis to September 2021, Nielsen figures show New Zealand Wine in fifth place overall in terms of volume sales in the off-trade.

The trade and press tasting will take place on Monday, 9 May, 2022 and will run from 2 – 6pm with a consumer tasting following at the same venue from at 6.30 – 8.30 p.m.  Participating wineries for the 2022 New Zealand Winegrowers annual tasting include the following: Akarua; Ata Rangi; Blank Canvas; Burn Cottage; Escarpment Winery; Framingham; Greywacke; Invivo Wines NZ (Graham Norton), Kim Crawford; Kono Beverages (seeking rep); Lawson’s Dry Hills Wines; Nautilus Estate; Nockie’s Palette (seeking rep);  Oyster Bay; Pegasus Bay; Rimapere Vineyards (seeking rep); Te Kano; Tinpot Hut; Tiraki (seeking rep); Trinity Hill; Villa Maria; Wild Earth and Wither Hills.
