Aryzta Retail Solutions and Mugrave have agreed a deal in which the wholesale group will buy fine food reseller to the hotel business La Rousse Foods from Aryzta.

La Rousse was placed on the market for sale by Aryzta some months ago, under the company’s new CEO Kevin Toland. La Rousse has been part of the Aryzta Group since 2015, when it acquired the company from Swiss founder Marc Amand.
With offices in Dublin and Belfast, La Rousse serves more than 1,500 customers.
Following the deal, Musgrave stated that its intention is that La Rousse Foods will continue to operate as a standalone brand. It serves more than 1,500 customers out of offices in Dublin and Belfast, and posted a pre-tax profit of €1.5m in 2015, out of a €36m turnover.

“La Rousse Foods is an excellent strategic fit for our business and complements our market-leading foodservice offer,” said Musgrave chief executive Chris Martin. “The acquisition forms part of our Growing Good Business strategy, which focuses on growing our brands in the food market across the island of Ireland.”
