Tayto is celebrating 70 years of being the original Irish crisp this year and to mark the milestone, Mr.Tayto will take to the streets of Dublin for this year’s St. Patrick’s Day parade.

The National St. Patrick’s Day parade is back, with this year’s parade all about celebrating Irish culture and heritage. With more pageants, participants, and fun, keep an eye out for Mr. Tayto on his own special Tayto transition.

The Tayto brand holds a special place in the hearts of the nation and is the one of the most-missed foods by Irish emigrants around the world. Synonymous with Irish culture and heritage, Mr. Tayto brings the parade’s theme, ‘Spréach’ (Spark) to life. Participation in the parade pays tribute to Tayto’s legacy and the countless moments of joy it has gifted to families and individuals throughout the years.

Additionally, this summer Tayto will showcase the highlights of the brand’s 7-decade history on a nationwide 70th birthday roadshow. The ‘Tay70’ birthday showcase will celebrate the very best of Tayto including the brand’s history, memorabilia, interactive games and fun activities for all ages.

Richard Tierney, chief executive officer of St. Patrick’s Festival, said: “As Tayto celebrates their 70th birthday, we are honoured to have Mr. Tayto grace our parade once again. St. Patrick’s Festival is about celebrating Irish culture and heritage. For many families and individuals Tayto was a huge part of their lives growing up and even now! Their transition is sure to ignite a spark of nostalgia and joy for our audience!”
