Keelings celebrates first harvest of Irish Strawberries

On Friday, 13 March, Keelings celebrated its first harvest of Irish strawberries. The company spent four years testing the variety and growing system, which allowed Keelings to start three weeks earlier with beautiful Irish strawberries, ready to enjoy just in time for St. Patricks’ weekend. Keelings Irish strawberries are available in store from Saturday 14 March. 

Iconic Love Hearts go green to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day

Swizzels is celebrating all things “craic agus ceol” with the inclusion of a special green Love Heart bearing the distinctly Irish phrase “Any craic?” to mark St. Patrick’s Day 2015. Consumers are being encouraged to keep an eye out for the new “Any craic?” green Love Heart as it makes an appearance in selected packs up and down the emerald isle in the build-up to and throughout the St. Patrick’s Day festivities.

Bottle Your Own Whiskey launches at the Jameson brand homes

On 12 March, Anna Malmhake, chairman and CEO, Irish Distillers Pernod Ricard, was the first person to individually bottle a 700ml bottle of cask strength whiskey at the launch of ‘Bottle Your Own’ in the Old Jameson Distillery. The new initiative, which also launches at the Jameson Experience in Midleton this month, offers Jameson lovers a unique personalised premium whiskey experience, where they can bottle a whiskey with their own name on the label.

Topaz announces February Play Or Park winner

Maureen Giles from Ballymena, Co. Antrim has been announced as the February winner of Topaz Play or Park. Giles and a friend will jet off to sunny Sydney after she won the once in a lifetime prize which is worth a total of €15,500 and includes a 10 night stay in luxury five star accommodation and €3,000 in spending money. Maureen is heavily involved in her local community in Ballymena, particularly through her work with the Northern Ireland Hospice.

Tayto Pop-Up to stay until St. Patrick’s Day

Due to the success of the Tayto Pop-Up Shop, it will be now be open until St. Patrick’s Day on Tuesday, 17 March. To get a glimpse into how the store was created, see a video here. The store, which is located in the prime retail area of Wicklow Street in Dublin 2, is part of the Tayto “More than just a Crisp” campaign. Mr Tayto is donating €1 from every €2 sandwich sold to Dublin’s Simon Community.

ICSC European Conference celebrates its 40th anniversary

The ICSC European conference, hosted by the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), will celebrate its 40th anniversary on 20 and 21 April at the Park Plaza Hotel on Westminster Bridge in London. More than 700 professionals from across the world including shopping centre owners, developers, investors, and retailers will discuss the theme ‘Destination: Retail’ at this year’s event.
