World’s leading sommeliers meet at unique occasion in France

Some of the biggest names in oenology gathered in Bordeaux recently, during the professional master’s programme. Some of the world’s greatest sommeliers got together for an “historic” photograph. This high-level meeting, which has now placed Erick de Sousa among the world’s biggest names in wine tasting, shows him to be recognised as one of the world’s best Champagne producers and winemakers.

Good4U signs deal to enter 280 Primark stores across Europe

Good4U, a healthy snack company based in Sligo, has signed a deal to sell its products in 280 Primark stores across Europe after agreeing a deal worth up to €2m. After negotiation with Primark lasting 18 months, the deal will strengthen Good4U’s  brand presence in no fewer than eight markets including Spain, France and Italy.

Tourism boost predicted on the back of “Irish cuisine”

Ireland is in the midst of a massive boom in its food production, as illustrated by the likes of the Blas na hÉireann Irish Food Awards and more events like it. There are no fewer than 12 Michelin-starred restaurants, but for many overseas markets, Ireland is seen as the land of “beer and potatoes”. To combat this, Fáilte Ireland has revealed plans to close the perception gap with a five year strategy to promote Ireland as a food destination, both through those home-grown producers and the high-level cuisine we do so well.
