Since 12 December, Krispy Kreme’s iconic doughnuts are now available in 18 new locations across the country. The announcement forms part of a wider expansion plan for the iconic American brand which intends to create a significant number of jobs here with the introduction of more locations in 2023.

Now Krispy Kreme will be more accessible right across the country, as the brand announces two new partners, Applegreen (now available in nine of its stores) and The Plaza Group (now available in four of its locations). The brand has also added four new locations to its partnership with Tesco and a new location at Circle K’s Kilmacanogue service station.

What’s more, for the first-time, fans in the west of Ireland can pick up Krispy Kreme doughnuts, following the introduction of a dedicated Krispy Kreme manufacturing plant in Naas Co. Kildare, ensuring the doughnuts are made fresh and delivered daily.

“We are really excited to be welcoming Applegreen and The Plaza Group as new partners and we continue to expand our presence in Tesco and Cirlcle K stores,” said Declan Foley, Krispy Kreme country manager for Ireland.

“The investment required in these cabinets represents a significant capital expenditure for our business and helps deliver a magical brand experience. This expansion coupled with our new store openings gives our fans a wider reach as we move beyond the Leinster area,” he added.

Indeed, 2022 was a significant year for Krispy Kreme with the opening of new stand-alone stores which included a Hotlight store at Dublin Plaza on Dame Street where fans got to experience the original glaze doughnuts passing along the famous line and through the iconic, mouth-watering glaze waterfall.

A new store at The Square Tallaght opened on Friday, 16 December and there was also the addition of Box stores, Rockets and further Gen 8 cabinets rolled out in Tesco and Circle K stores earlier in the year.

The latest ‘Limited Time Only’ doughnuts are available in their own pre-packed dozens along with Bites and Minis Original Glazed from Krispy Kreme’s state-of-the-art digital display cabinets. The Gen-8 cabinets include digital screens with seasonal salutations and can display bespoke messaging tailored for each store. Motion-activated digital shelf edge labels offer product information – including full ingredient specifications, which allow customers to check for allergens.

In total, to date the brand has five standalone stores, 64 cabinets, three Box stores and two Rockets.
