Tobacco company John Player & Sons has launched the first Irish trade website where retailers can analyse their tobacco sales and stay apprised of goings-on in the industry. Defining itself as “more than just a tobacco company,” Johnplayer.ie has a number of features for sellers as they adjust to the new legislation and fluctuating prices. The current tobacco sale laws, effective since 1 July, are available for reference alongside trade news and the latest Nielsen market research.

Retailers can download up-to-date price lists for popular brands such as Superkings, Regal, Golden Virginia, and Marlboro, then apply them to the site’s ‘Profit Calculator,’ which allows retailers to determine which products will attract the most sales and margin, according to most recent Nielsen market data. Johnplayer.ie also provides contact details for tobacco authorities and encourages users to report illegal sales and smuggling.
