Plans for a high-profile retail development in Bray, Co Wicklow are to be scaled back as a result of falling consumer spending, say developers.

Sean Mulryan’s Ballymore Properties was originally granted planning permission by Bray Town Council for 98,000 sq ft of retail space, with offices, 110 apartments and car parking.

But now Ballymore has proposed to Town Council Officials that its Florentine complex be reduced to a 60,000 sq ft store and that it develop a multi-storey car park to be owned as a joint venture with the council.
