Tomorrow (Wednesday 2 April), the Guinness Storehouse will open its doors as they invite the neurodiverse community to experience a fully sensory-friendly day.

The storehouse has made modifications including adapted lighting and sound as well as reducing visitor capacity to 60%.

Sensory-friendly entertainment with soothing sounds from a harp player, a relaxed area with fidget toys and sensory kits have also been set up.

Diageo and World Autism Day

The aim of the Guinness Storehouse is to provide a comfortable visit for those sensitive to noise, crowds and bright lights.

This experience will allow them to ‘fully engage at their own pace’.

Tickets are priced at €20 per person and includes a pint of Guinness or Guinness 00 in the Gravity Bar.

Catherine Toolan, Diageo Irish Brand Homes’ managing director said: “World Autism Day provides us with a unique opportunity to raise awareness about autism and create meaningful experiences that cater to neurodiverse individuals.

“In the year of our 25th birthday we believe in creating celebrations for everyone, and this World Autism Day, 2 April, we will be running a full sensory friendly day for the first time ever”.

‘Alive in 25’

The event is in line with the storehouse’s “Alive in 25” campaign as they expand on cultural events and community initiatives.

The sensory-friendly day will run from 9am to 5pm.
