Guinness has significantly expanded the celebrations from 38 ticketed events last year to 500 free music events taking place in local pubs all over the country.

“Just grab some mates and head to one of the 500 free Arthur’s Day music events taking place in local pubs across all 32 counties,” stated Guinness.

To add to the surprise element Guinness is giving consumers the chance to bring internationally-renowned artists to one of the 500 venues involved by simply casting their vote in the run-up to Arthur’s Day.

The winning pubs will remain a secret to the public until the night itself so one never knows who’ll walk through the door. See www. Guinness.com for full details.

“This year we wanted to do more and give everyone the chance to experience the magic of Arthur’s Day by making all events free and giving the public a chance to vote and help bring a headline artist to their local,” commented Stuart Kinch, Guinness Marketing Manager, “So it promises to be the biggest Arthur’s Day yet with the Arthur Guinness Fund also directly benefiting from the celebration.”

This year, for every ‘check-in’ by people to the Arthur’s Day Facebook event, a €5 donation will be made to the Arthur Guinness Fund by Guinness.

Guinness will be making further announcements in the coming weeks of additional artists to be added to the line-up, unique performance collaborations and other “surprising” ways of enjoying the Arthur’s Day celebrations in Ireland.
Some 55 countries will be joining in the celebrations to mark the philanthropic legacy of Arthur Guinness this year.
