The pair are also directors of Oyster Technologies and Shanaway Property Development. Durty Nelly’s was sold to them for considerably less than the €12.5 to €13 million estimated to have been paid in 2008 by the previous owners, Crystal Partners, who included Seánie Lyne and Noel Connellan, according to Martin Scully.

A report in the Clare Champion states that there are no major changes planned for the pub in the near future.

“There’s just a few alterations inside” the Assistant Manger of Durty Nelly’s Diarmuid Lynch comments, “changing the toilets and things like that but no major alterations, just a few internal improvements.”

Diarmuid added that the pub had done reasonably well of late.

“The last couple of months are normally our quiet time of the year but it has been very busy,” he stated, “During the week, there are a lot of tourists but at the weekends it’s Irish people. The airport is picking up a little bit. Last night there were two banquets in the castle and we usually get a few from that.”
