Deliveroo Ireland partners with FoodCloud to tackle food waste
The partnership aims to combat food waste with a new donation feature and direct support for the Growers Project

Deliveroo Ireland has announced a strategic partnership with FoodCloud, Ireland’s leading non-profit social enterprise dedicated to tackling food waste and food insecurity.
As part of the continued partnership, all Deliveroo users will be able to add a round up donation to their in-app orders.
In addition, Deliveroo will contribute directly to FoodCloud’s innovative Growers Project, which is aimed at reducing farm-level food waste and providing nutritious produce to the community partners FoodCloud supports all over Ireland.
The Growers Project
The Growers Project seeks to establish a national programme for the redistribution of surplus food from Irish growers that would otherwise go unharvested or be sent for animal feed.
Through this partnership, Deliveroo will support FoodCloud’s target of redistributing 60 tonnes of fresh produce, avoiding approximately 192,000 kgs of CO2 equivalent emissions and providing over 140,000 meals to communities across Ireland in 2024.
The new partnership builds on the success of Deliveroo and FoodCloud’s previous collaborations, including the Full Life campaign.
Food waste
“Every donation, no matter how small, makes a tangible difference in the fight against food waste and food insecurity,” said Helen Maher, Ireland regional director, Deliveroo.
Maher encourages everyone to support this initiative and help ensure good food is used to nourish communities rather than going to waste.
“This renewed commitment is set to extend the impact even further, providing crucial support to the Growers Project, which ensures delicious, surplus produce gets to communities all around Ireland,” said Aoibheann O’Brien, co founder & director of development and innovation, FoodCloud.
