DMG Media Ireland, publisher of the Irish Daily Mail, has announced the daily title’s cover price is set to increase by 20 cents next week, in a move which will see retailers retain the same percentage discount at 26.09%.

On Monday, 7 March 2016, the recommended retail price (RRP) of the Irish Daily Mail (Monday – Friday editions) will increase from €1 to €1.20.

DMG Media says this is “the first cover price increase introduced since August 2008”, and it is confident the new price “still represents fantastic value for money to our readers”.

The current retail percentage discount at 26.09% will be maintained, in a decision which DMG Media says “will add an extra 0.0478c profit into retailers’ tills for every copy of the Irish Daily Mail sold”.

The publisher has informed retailers of the new barcodes for the Monday to Friday editions of the newspaper, which will come into force from next Monday.
