A case before the Commercial Court in which wine distributor Febvre and Co was a defendant has collapsed, following the withdrawal of the plaintiffs’ claim. Anthony and Gregory Alken, who owned and operated the company until 2014, had taken legal action to block the new owners from selling off their secured assets.

In Court, the Alkens acknowledged that the shares issued in Febvre and Co. Ltd were “lawfully and validly tested”.

The terms of the Plaintiffs’ withdrawal were read in open court, having been signed by all parties.

Jim Bradley, managing director of Febvre said he was delighted for all of the company’s staff, customers and shareholders that the uncertainty caused by the ongoing proceedings had been brought to a “clear and unambiguous” conclusion, so that Febvre could concentrate on its day-to-day business in what are “difficult market conditions.”
