Business France Ireland has opened nominations for the 2026 French Champion Awards, recognising Irish retailers, importers, restaurants and industry professionals promoting French food and wine.

The winners will be announced at Délicieux, the French Food and Wine Day, which takes place at Smock Alley Theatre in Dublin on 8 October.

Now in its second year, the awards recognise businesses and individuals across six categories: Best Supermarket for French Produce, Best Wine Shop for French Wines, Best Delicatessen for French Produce, Best Wine Importer for French Wines, Best Food Importer for French Produce and Best Restaurant for French Cuisine.

Trade professionals can nominate up to three companies or individuals in each category.

A judging panel from the French Embassy and its partners will select the winners, which will be announced during the awards ceremony at Délicieux.

Pauline Gauthier, head of food and drink at Business France Ireland, said the awards recognise businesses and professionals helping to bring French food and wine to a wider audience in Ireland.

“The French Champion Awards celebrate the Irish businesses and professionals whose dedication and expertise play a key role in bringing French food and wine to a wider audience across Ireland,” Gauthier said.

Délicieux will also bring together 33 French food and wine producers for a one-day trade showcase, giving Irish buyers and industry professionals the opportunity to discover new products, meet producers and explore potential business opportunities.

Henry Anderson, managing director of Bacchus Vinos, said the Business France showcases had become a fixture in the company’s calendar.

John O’Donoghue, buying and commercial manager at Odaios, described Délicieux as an opportunity to discover French produce for the Irish trade.

The event is exclusively for members of the Irish food and wine trade, with registrations subject to approval by the Business France Ireland team.

Nominations for the 2026 French Champion Awards are now open, with the winners set to be announced at Délicieux on 8 October.
