Amber, one of Munster’s largest fuel retailers, has opened a new un-manned outlet at Bandon Co-op Enniskeane, Co. Cork. The site is part of a €3 million investment project by Amber and its partner sites across the West Cork region.

Amber’s significant growth plans have supported in the development of 60 full and part-time positions across four sites in Bishopstown, Kilbrittain, Crossbarry and Enniskeane.

The company’s latest development, at Bandon Co-op Enniskeane, will allow motorists to pay at the pump using credit cards, laser cards and various fuel cards. Amber/DCI fuel cards are available from Amber’s Head Office in Fermoy and application forms are also available on the Amber website: http://www.amberoil.ie/fuel-cards.html

Liam Fitzgerald, chairman of Amber said of the move: “While this type of fuelling may be relatively new to Ireland, it has been common on the continent for many years, particularly in rural locations. I truly feel this will be an asset to a village like Enniskeane, with motorists benefitting from competitive prices in a convenient location. We have committed over €7.9 million investment in expanding our business over the last three years and West Cork has played a large part in this.”

Michael O’Driscoll, retail division manager at Bandon Co-op said: “It gives me great pleasure to work with Amber in developing this site. Amber is a well-recognised, trusted Irish brand and it is exciting to be involved in bringing new automated technology to this rural area.”

The new Amber outlet, which is aimed at all diesel motorists, provides ample space and is easily accessible for HGVs and buses. The new 1,900 square metre site offers white diesel, MGO, kerosene/home heating oil, AdBlue (diesel additive used in the treatment of exhaust fumes), air and water. Fast-fill diesel is available for HGVs and buses.

The new Enniskeane outlet, officially opened on 2 September, is now open from 7am-10pm, seven days per week.
