The Alltech International Craft Brews and Food Fair returns to Dublin’s Convention Centre, Ireland, 6 – 8 February 2014. Due to the phenomenal success of the inaugural and unique event held in July of this year, another gathering of trade exhibitors, food pairing experts, world renowned beer judges and international trade professionals will come together for three days of learning, networking and entertainment.

Focussing on the needs and trends in the craft brewing and distilling industry, the fair is aimed at brewing and distilling enthusiasts and professionals. The fair is open to trade on 6 and 7 February with the public welcome to attend and sample the craft beverages and artisan foods from 5pm on 7 February and from noon on 8 February.

Trade professionals will examine the latest trends in brewing and distilling and explore how distillers, brewers and craft beers resellers can best profit from them. The fair presents an enormous opportunity to connect with as many as 50 international craft breweries and distilleries, network with buyers and resellers from around the world and showcase beverages to the public.

The fair will feature a full programme of educational talks and demonstrations that will cover many facets of craft brewing and distilling. Restaurateurs are learning about pairing their dishes with craft beers and spirits. To give brewers and distillers that extra edge, the event will also feature The Pair and Taste Pavilion where experts in the field will demonstrate how to effectively pair a beer or spirit with various foods.

Also returning this year is the Dublin Craft Beer & Spirit Cup competition, where craft beverages will be pitted against each other across seven different categories, with local breweries and distilleries competing head to head with their global competitors. Entries will be sorted into their respective categories and a winner will be chosen by a panel of judges from the industry.

The Health and Wellness Programme held on 6 February at Alltech’s upcoming International Craft Brews & Food Fair will examine the role diet plays in acting as a defence against a variety of human illnesses and diseases. An internationally acclaimed line-up of health and wellness experts will explore the fascinating topic of functional foods – foods with potentially positive effects on health beyond basic nutrition – and their potential to free people from depression, heart disease, Alzheimer’s and even cancer. What if the answer to preventing and combating illness was right there on your plate?

Attendee participants will have the opportunity to participate in holistic lectures and discussions designed to encourage a free exchange of ideas. Sessions will range from nutrition and enrichment to consumer education and mental health.

The Health and Wellness Programme will include:
• Mental Health Awareness: How Nutrition Affects Your Mental State – Brent Pope, rugby analyst on RTÉ television
• Are We in the Wellness Industry? – Dr. Patrick Wall, associate professor of public health in University College Dublin’s School of Public Health and Population Science
• A Question of Balance – David Clarke, CEO of Red Tractor Assurance
• Sustainable Agriculture to Deliver Health and Wellness Globally – Dr. Tom Arnold, former CEO of Concern Worldwide

The programme is being held in conjunction with the 2nd Annual Alltech International Craft Brews & Food Fair, and registration is open now. Standard registration for the Health and Wellness Programme is €150. Attendees are encouraged to register early as space is limited to the first 150 delegates.
