Aldi has confirmed its new outlet in the Frascati Shopping Centre in south Dublin will feature its new-concept layout and design. The new store – Aldi’s 130th in Ireland – will be constructed as part of the redevelopment of Blackrock’s Frascati Centre, which will almost double in size (from 100,00sq ft to 170,000sq ft) and feature 23 new retail outlets and a dining space.

The new store will feature fresh produce displayed more prominently. Aldi’s recently-announced €60m “Project Fresh” investment will see its existing store portfolio nationwide refitted to this format.

“We are excited to be expanding our Dublin presence at such a fantastic location,” said Giles Hurley, Aldi Group managing director. “We always aim to offer the very best in award-winning quality and unbeatable value for money to our customers and we are confident that our presence in the new and improved Frascati Shopping Centre will make Blackrock an even more attractive destination for shoppers.”

In the last five years Aldi has further increased its partnership with Irish suppliers, bringing its total to more than 175 Irish producers, helping maintain over 34,000 jobs across the Irish food industry.
