The Food Reformulation Task Force, a strategic partnership between Healthy Ireland and the Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI), will host a free online event, to explore the role of food reformulation in supporting healthier diets and improving population health.

It will also provide an update on Ireland’s food reformulation programme. From Commitment to Change: Food Reformulation in Action will be held online on Friday, 11 September 2026, from 10.00am to 1.30pm.

Showcase of best practice

The event will bring together policymakers, public health experts, academics, and representatives from the food industry to highlight the latest evidence, showcase best practice, and examine opportunities and challenges in delivering meaningful dietary improvements.

Mr Greg Dempsey, CEO, FSAI, said: “This free online event will provide an update on Ireland’s food reformulation programme and the work that is underway across the food industry to help people make healthier food choices and to also respond to consumer demand for alternative healthier options.

“This multi-stakeholder event will consider how best to satisfy evolving consumer preferences, enable healthier diets, support innovation and growth and contribute to a healthier food system overall.

“We would encourage all those with an interest in this area to take part and to come together and share best practice learnings, insights and how collaboration can drive progress.”

“It is also particularly noteworthy in the year that Ireland hosts the EU Presidency of the Council of the European Union that this event has been recognised as an associated event of the Irish Presidency and it provides an important opportunity to spotlight the progress that all stakeholders within the food industry in Ireland are making in the context of reformulation,” added Mr Dempsey.
