Britvic Ireland acquires C&C’s Quinn’s wholesale operation in NI

Britvic Ireland has acquired the business of drinks wholesaler Quinn’s of Cookstown, a subsidiary of Tennents Northern Ireland (part of C&C Group), for an undisclosed sum.

The acquisition makes Britvic Ireland the sole all-island drinks wholesaler, now servicing over 4,500 licensed outlets.

The County Tyrone company, employing 30, is a wholesaler and distributor of drink brands including Guinness, Heineken, Magners, Pepsi and 7UP, to over 800 outlets in NI with a turnover of £18 million (€20.5m) in 2010.

Britvic Ireland Managing Director Andrew Richards commented that the NI company’s portfolio includes several ‘must stock’ brands that will help position Britvic “as a supplier of choice for many outlets”.

The acquisition will also enhance Britvic’s on-trade access in NI from its present 140 outlets.

Britvic added that the acquisition will extend its reach, client mix and the range of brands that it carries.
