Enterprise Ireland announced the appointment of Dr. Keith O’Neill as the state agency’s new director of life science and food research commercialisation. He will take up the position on 23 February 2009.

O’Neill brings a wealth of experience in the commercial aspects of industry-led, collaborative research projects, which will prove invaluable as he takes the helm in the life science and food research commercialisation unit at Enterprise Ireland.

Here he will take over initiatives such as the functional foods research centre launched last year. Prior to his new role at Enterprise Ireland, O’Neill was manager of the Biomedical Diagnostics Institute (BDI), a medical devices research institute with a commercial focus, at DCU. Before this, he spent four years at the renowned Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard in the US.
