The new KitKat Green Tea Matcha range follows requests from chocolate lovers to bring innovative new flavours of KitKat to consumers. The new variety of the iconic chocolate bar will hit shelves later this month. KitKat Green Tea Matcha is inspired by one of the most popular of the 350+ KitKat varieties that have been available in Japan over the years. The brand is a household name there, popular for gifting and with tourists looking for an interesting souvenir.

Winning Lemon Drizzle Cake launches in Aldi stores nationwide

Ava Pierce’s award-winning Lemon Drizzle Cake is now on sale in 137 Aldi stores nationwide. 15 year-old Ava Pierce is an aspiring baker from Gorey, Co. Wexford, who last year won the National Junior Baking Competition, sponsored by Aldi and the National Ploughing Association. As well as winning the competition and having her cake sold in Aldi stores, Ava also won a €1,000 fund for her own use. Ava is a member of Askamore Foróige Club and is in transition year in Gorey Community School.

Pladis launches Flipz in Ireland

Global biscuit giant Pladis has introduced one of America’s favourite snacks to its Irish portfolio. Flipz are a combination of crunchy, salty pretzels and smooth, creamy chocolate. The launch comes on the back of enormous popularity in the US, where the brand is currently worth $61m RSV following double-digit growth over the past three  years. Flipz come in 100g Milk Chocolate and Dark Chocolate pouches, at an RSP of €2.89,
