18% ‘dipping into savings’ to pay for leisure expenses

The vast majority of Irish adults have seen their disposable incomes fall in the past year with women between 45 and 54 most likely to have seen a fall in income, according to Amárach Research which examined the mood of the nation ahead of this year’s Budget on behalf of RTE Frontline and the Irish Daily Mail.

In the report, Closer to the edge, Amárach reports that household expenditure has been reduced through cuts in leisure spend for 86 per cent of respondents.

It also reports that 18 per cent of respondents have dipped into savings to pay for leisure expenses.
