Eurospar was delighted to be a sponsor of the recent Irish Grand Final of Junk Kouture, which saw  80 secondary students from around Ireland take to the catwalk at the 3Arena to model their sustainable couture designs, made from upcycled junk and recycled materials in front of an audience of friends, family, teachers and classmates.

The incredible designs included outfits made from train tickets, cattle tags, bottle caps and burst footballs.

Following a tough deliberation from judges Louis Walsh, Keilidh Cashell, Tara Kumar and Stephen McLaughlin, 10 designs were selected to represent Ireland in the 2023 Junk Kouture World Final, which takes place in Ovo Arena Wembley in London on 12 October.

Ireland’s 10 finalists will compete against students from Abu Dhabi, London, Paris, Milan and New York to become the Junk Kouture World Designer of the Year.

“As an official sponsor, Eurospar was delighted to be associated with this wonderful event,” said Eurospar sales director Peter Dwan of the Irish Grand Final.

“This was a tremendous sponsorship opportunity for Eurospar and speaks directly to our ambitious sustainability goals and our stated Responsible Retailing commitment,” Dwan added.
