Whiskey Live Dublin 2013 set for Oct 5th
Over 500 people from home and abroad are expected to attend the Whiskey Live Dublin 2013 on Saturday 5th October to celebrate Irish and World Spirits at The Round Room in Dublin’s Mansion House.
2 October 2013
The event will showcase for the first time Poitín, the often misunderstood and demonised traditional spirit of Ireland, currently in the process of an image overhaul. Whiskey Live gives patrons the opportunity to sample the clear spirit famous for its alcohol strength. Brands available at the show include Teeling, Glendalough, Bunratty, Cooley and more.
The event also showcases the pairing of food with whiskey offering the opportunity to enjoy leading Irish whiskeys matched with cheese, cured meats, smoked fish and chocolate. The Whisky Live stage will play host to live music, presentations and displays throughout the day.
This ticket-only event caters for novice to connoisseur. A broad selection of Scotch and international whiskies will also be represented.
Irish whiskey has enjoyed a major resurgence in popularity in recent years and is the fastest-growing brown spirit in the world with global sales growing 10% each year. 2012 saw strong sales in emerging markets such as Russia, Canada, Australia and Asia.
“We’re delighted to be returning to Dublin once again this year,” commented Whiskey Live’s spokesperson Michael Foggarty, “Last year’s event proved to be an outstanding success with over 500 visitors on the day and this year we look forward to building on that achievement.
“Whisky Live Dublin 2013 will offer all those who’re interested a chance to learn more about whiskey’s history, how it is distilled today, how versatile it is and how it can be enjoyed in a variety of ways.
“There will also be a greater focus on Poitín this year. Poitín is one of the oldest spirits in the world with a rich and varied history and is exclusively associated with Ireland – we’re really excited to be welcoming the biggest brands along on the day.”
