What’s your job title?
Director

Your favourite off-licence?
Devenny’s in Rathmines, Dublin, and outside the city, it has to be Daly’s Drinks in Boyle, Co. Roscommon

How do you describe yourself?
Down to earth, witty and sociable

What’s your favourite drink?
Camas Pinot Noir

What’s your favourite drink brand, outside of any brands you may represent, and why?
Coors Light – it’s fresh and cool

Should drink ads be limited/banned, why/why not?
I think they should be limited. You can get the message across without brain-washing

What piece of legislation would you introduce/change?
I would stop the bombardment of 30% off alcohol advertisement from large supermarket chains. Is it a cynical ploy to get people into the shop for their weekly groceries? Or is it below cost selling of alcohol?

The best gift you ever received?
A bicycle from Santa

What possession could you not live without?
Mobile phone

What was your first job?
Milking cows in New Zealand

What’s the worst ad ever?
It’s hard to choose, but certainly some of the washing power adverts, from over the last few years, would be strong contenders for the worst advert title.

What’s your favourite drink ad at the moment?
Heineken – very sharp and memorable

Country & western or rock ‘n roll?
Rock’n roll

Who is inspirational in the Irish trade?
There is no one specific to be honest. I am inspired by all different types of people I meet. Sometimes they are from across different sectors, yet have achieved a lot or have really gone after their dream.

What (if anything) was the last thing you bought on the Internet?
I recently bought some flight tickets.

What’s your favourite food?
Bacon and cabbage

Wine or beer?
Wine – especially our new Domaine Aonghusa range of red wine, which we will be launching this year at the SHOP 2010 exhibition.

What makes you laugh?
Vicar of Dibley

Favourite insult?
You’re about as useful as a chocolate fireguard

Who (out of anyone in the whole world alive or dead) would you most like to have drinks with?
Family. Those alive and those departed
