What’s your job title?
Brand manager, vodka category – Absolut Vodka, Huzzar, Wyborowa

Your favourite off-licence?
I like them all equally – once they have a respectable vodka collection that includes all of the above, then I’m happy.

How do you describe yourself?
A serious person who doesn’t take himself too seriously

What’s your favourite drink?
Absolut Citron and Tonic, add in a slice of lime to make an incredibly refreshing drink

What’s your favourite drink brand, outside of any brands you may represent, and why?
I would say Innocent Smoothies. It is a great brand with a fun and engaging outlook. Their brand values are quite strong and they have continued to remain true to these despite their impressive expansion.

Should drink ads be limited/banned, why/why not?
I believe that marketing professionals in the drinks industry need to follow the responsibility guidelines thoroughly. As a company, we incorporate these guidelines in any brand initiative from the very outset which ensures that brand communications are conveyed in a relevant and responsible manner.

What piece of legislation would you introduce/change?
In a time when many retailers are struggling, I would look at changing the “upward-only” rent review policy that hampers many high street retailers – this would give some flexibility to retailers and allow them to invest in their business.

The best gift you ever received?
Gift of life from my parents – Thanks mam and dad!

What possession could you not live without?
iPhone, although it may be an obvious choice, it’s truly amazing how addictive these can become!

What was your first job?
As a school kid, I set up a small business selling “Stress Men” – personalised balloon characters filled with flour. Needless to say, this created more stress for me than profit!

What’s the worst ad ever?
There are a few contenders for this one but the Churchill Car insurance ad with the talking dog, has got to be the winner. “Oh Yes!”

What’s your favourite drink ad at the moment?
The Malibu ad for “Radio Maliboomboom” is one that has caught my eye recently.  The music, overall good summer time vibe and some classic Caribbean style humour, make this a very memorable advertisement.

Country & western or rock ‘n roll?
Rock ‘n Roll, although my iPod would not contain much of either genre!

Who is inspirational in the Irish trade?
Any publican, retailer or wholesaler who is still in business and trying to make things better through providing innovating ideas or services for consumers. No doubt that these are tough times for the Irish trade so anyone who can stay positive and stay in business, will provide inspiration for others

What (if anything) was the last thing you bought on the Internet?
A television license – not very exciting I’m afraid but I couldn’t face another knock on the door without one!

What’s your favourite food?
Fresh fish – Any type really but especially monkfish, cod, sea bream..need I go on?

Wine or beer?
Wine

What makes you laugh?
Funny things but mostly good company

Favourite insult?
I don’t really have one, it’s nice to be nice, right?
