Value Centre undergoes major refurbishment
29 October 2013
Value Centre Letterkenny is now undergoing a major upgrade following a €450,000 investment by owners BWG Foods to expand the premises over the next three months.
This work comes on the back of an expansion to the site just two years ago. This new project will see the site become one of the largest, by turnover, in BWG’s Value Centre network which now has 22 branches nationwide.
Following BWG Foods’ acquisition of Morris Brothers last year, the site on Port Road, Letterkenny provides a walk-in and delivered service to customers in the entire North West area. Currently the volume of goods moving in and out of the premises equates to over 30,000 cases per week.
Due to the increased size and scale of the premises, the company is also making a significant investment in new technology and equipment to facilitate the additional capacity and improve efficiencies.
Commenting on the works John Moane, managing director of BWG Wholesale Division said: "Value Centre Letterkenny continues to go from strength to strength. We believe growth follows investment and the fact that this site will now be one of our largest in the country, by turnover, is evidence of that."
Willie O’Byrne, managing director, BWG Foods added: "This year, our wholesale customers stand to benefit from investment we have been putting into our Value Centre network in Letterkenny, Limerick, Castlebar and Sligo. The works being carried out at Letterkenny are particularly significant because it is the only cash and carry business in Donegal and is a key strategic area for us in the North West of Ireland."
Value Centre Letterkenny provides an extensive offering across all major product categories including grocery, alcohol and tobacco, catering and non-food, such as health and beauty and household.
