The Wine Buff, a chain of franchised wine stores, has opened its 11th Irish store, The Wine Buff Killarney, located at 6 New Street, Killarney, with franchisee KD Evans at the helm.

The store which opened on Friday (19 November) joins other locations including Cork, Dungarvan, Ennis, Galway, Gorey, Kilkenny, Limerick, Nenagh, Portarlington and Sligo, along with Saint-Émilion in Bordeaux.

Each Wine Buff store is 100% Irish owned and managed, offering an exclusive selection of wines imported directly from the world’s finest sustainable family-run vineyards, earning The Wine Buff its reputation for stocking  “extraordinary wines at ordinary prices”. The group says its mission is to take the mystery out of wine, allowing everyone to enjoy great wines from producers throughout the wine growing regions of Europe, particularly France, Italy and Spain, and further afield.

KD Evans is proud to be the newest member of the franchise. “I’m absolutely delighted to bring The Wine Buff brand to Killarney,” Evans said. “The local support we have received here already has been phenomenal and we’re really looking forward to becoming an integral part of this wonderful community.”

“It’s great to have KD on board as a franchisee,” added Daragh Moore, co-founder and franchise director of The Wine Buff.

One of the key things we look for in our franchisees is a passion for wine and for discovering new wines from different regions of the world and KD has this in spades,” he said. “Killarney is a fantastic, vibrant town and we couldn’t think of a better location for our newest store.”
