Tesco Ireland has been awarded the coveted Great Place to Work accreditation at the annual Best Workplaces in Ireland event at the Clayton Burlington Hotel this week.

Tesco is one of the Ireland’s biggest private sector employers, employing over 13,000 people in 149 stores across the country. The Great Place to Work process celebrates Irish companies who promote employee well-being, while encouraging staff to perform at their best. Companies are assessed on their policies and practices, as well as the feedback of staff themselves.

In certifying Tesco Ireland as an official Great Place to Work, the organisation commended the group on its culture, “achieving its organisational objectives with employees who give their personal best and who work together as a team, in an environment of trust”.

Geraldine Casey, people director, Tesco Ireland said that the company is proud to have successfully achieved the Great Place to Work standard. “We always put our colleagues first,” Casey said, “and we are delighted to see this recognised.

“We’re thrilled to now have a foundation from which to continue on a meaningful journey for our 13,000 colleagues across our business,” Casey added.
