With just weeks to go until Taste of Dublin Festive Edition descends on the RDS, more and more details are emerging on what the event has in store for visitors.

Taste of Dublin: Festive Edition inspired by Tesco Finest* is almost here! The brand-new winter edition of the much-loved event will take place at the RDS from November 28 to December 1, and is offering visitors the premium foodie experience with a wide range of masterclasses across the weekend.

Whether it’s to better those culinary skills, broaden the taste palate, or are simply some quick tips for Christmas, Taste of Dublin Festive Edition has it all covered. with the Festive Masterclasses in association with Regina Wish. After that, this might be the easiest season of goodwill ever!

Some of the events taking place across the weekend include:

Ballymaloe favourites Rachel Allen & Rory O’Connell will chat with Erica Drum on how to prep smartly for the festive season. Their tips and tricks will leave families stress-free and ready to relax in the festivities. Taste of Dublin is welcoming Tara Walker of East Coast Cookery School, who will chat through her ultimate Christmas checklist.

Festive Tablescaping + Crafting: Deck the halls (and tables!) with festive tablescaping and crafting masterclasses. Whether it be a Christmas Eve dinner or a Christmas Day lunch, visitors will be given some incredible ideas to work with, which will wow guests and certainly enhance hosting status. The Little Craft shop is also on hand to host a card-making class with event planner extraordinaire Maria Reidy giving tablescaping tips.

Festive Cheese Block: Meet the finest Irish cheese producers at our festive cheese block. Some of Ireland’s top artisan cheese producers will be taking part over the 4-day festival including Young Buck, Corleggy, Ballylisk and Galway Goat Farm.

Zero Waste Christmas: Sustainability and zero waste are on the agenda as Conor Spacey of FoodSpace discusses how the food choices you make over Christmas can be more sustainable. Let Chef Conor give you tips and demonstrate a zero waste Christmas that is good for you and the planet.

Trolley of the Year Triumphs: Earlier this year the Ballymaloe House dessert trolley was awarded “Trolley of the Year” at The World Restaurants Awards. Created by Myrtle Allen when she opened the doors of Ballymaloe House, the sweet trolley has added a little bit of magic to every meal at Ballymaloe ever since. Today JR Ryall oversees the pastry kitchen ensuring the dessert trolley offers old fashioned generosity that we nostalgically remember – he’ll be at Taste Festive to talk all things sweet.

Butchery + Charcuterie Masterclasses: Bored of turkey? Michael Bermingham of MK Meats will introduce visitors to plenty of tasty alternatives from spiced beef to duck and goose. Find out what a turducken is and even sample some. There will also be artisan charcuterie producer The Wooded Pig, handing out tasty products and speaking about their passion for producing the highest quality Irish charcuterie using ethically raised free-range Irish Meat.

Taste Chocolate Workshops: Ireland’s most talented chocolatiers will be on hand at Taste of Dublin: Festive Edition to show you how they go from bean to bar with their amazing skills. Join Bean & Goose as they host a live hot chocolate demo which invites passers-by to learn how to make the ultimate gourmet winter warmer. Neary Nogs will also be on hand to talk through their chocolate-making process and they’ll be sampling some of their tasty treats.

Festive Drinks Theatre: Taste Festive is delighted to launch the first-ever Drinks Theatre. Sample craft drinks and hear the stories behind some of the most innovative and interesting Irish, artisan drinks on the market. Unsure what wine to serve with turkey? Want a simple at-home cocktail for the New Year’s Eve bash? Patrick Mulcahy will also be on hand to talk ‘Winefulness’ – which is his mindful wine tasting and being drink aware during the holiday season.

Wine Tasting Experiences: This is your chance to sit and taste delicious reds and whites brought to you by Campo Viejo wines. They’ll be doing wines and tapas tastings over the festival to bring the vibrant Spanish culture to life. Taste Festive will animate the concept of a ‘life more colourful’ through and a multitude of interactive and creative experiences, showcasing the vibrancy of Campo Viejo and modern-day Spain.
