Superquinn is celebrating its 50th birthday - and passion for quality food and drink - through its headline sponsorship of the annual Taste of Dublin festival.

Feargal Quinn, founder and non-executive president of Superquinn, has announced details of the iconic Irish retailer’s headline sponsorship of Taste of Dublin, the capital’s premier outdoor food and drink festival.

Taking place in the Iveagh Gardens from Thursday 10 June – Sunday 13 June, more than 30,000 foodies and wine lovers are expected to attend the gourmet festival. 2010 marks Superquinn’s 50th birthday as well as the fifth birthday of Taste of Dublin.

Feargal Quinn said: “This is a really exciting initiative for us. Superquinn is famous for quality Irish fresh foods, great Irish hospitality, its expertise and commitment to support Irish producers.”

James Wilson, trading director at Superquinn, added: “By sponsoring Taste of Dublin, we have a wonderful opportunity not only to celebrate our 50th birthday, but to engage directly with thousands of people who are passionate about quality food and wine.”

The Superquinn pavilion will occupy pole position at Taste of Dublin, where visitors can enjoy a tailor-made gastronomic experience. Here they can sample dishes presented by the Superquinn chefs, taste superb wines and relax in the cosy lounge area.
