Following the signing of a 25-year lease with owner Kennedy Wilson Europe, The Irish Times reports Tesco is planning to expand its current retail operations at south Dublin’s Stillorgan Shopping Centre.

Currently, Tesco already operates three units within the shopping centre. These include an off-licence, homestore and supermarket.

Construction work has already begun on the 11,000 sq ft expansion which will allow Tesco to consolidate these three units into two.

The work is believed to be completed by the end of this year.

As well as the new extension, Kennedy Wilson is investing some €15 million on a renovation  of the centre. This will include replacing the existing canopies with a large canopy to weatherproof the centre and transform its façade.
