Spar supports ‘Christmas Jumper Day 4 Cystic Fibrosis’
Cystic Fibrosis Ireland has launched its Christmas Jumper Day 4 CF event, which takes place on Friday, 14 December. The aim is to raise awareness and funds to help provide support and services for people with cystic fibrosis nationally.

With Ireland having the highest rates of cystic fibrosis in the world and some of the most severe types of the disease—over 1,300 people are living with cystic fibrosis here currently – Cystic Fibrosis Ireland has launched its Christmas fundraising event, which will take place on Friday, 14 December.
To join in the festivities, CF Ireland is encouraging companies to take part by asking staff or colleagues to wear their Christmas jumper to work on Christmas Jumper Day 4 CF, Friday 14 December in return for a €5 donation to support people with Cystic Fibrosis in Ireland. The initiative is proudly suppored by Spar Ireland, which has been a partner to the charity since 2017. Since then, Spar retailers have raised over €400,000 through collection boxes in stores, while a donation on selected Spar own-brand products go towards CFI.
SPAR marketing manager Helen Somerville said the group is proud to work with Cystic Fibrosis Ireland as its charity partner. “We hope that our support will continue to help improve the quality of the lives of those living with cystic fibrosis in Ireland,” Somerville said. “Aside from monies raised through our charity boxes in stores, we also make regular donations from the sale of our Spar own brand range products and we are also involved in a number of fundraising events to raise as much funds as possible for Cystic Fibrosis Ireland.”
