Regrettably, the ShelfLife Grocery Management Awards will be unable to proceed on the planned date due to Covid-19 restrictions on indoor events.

During the month of August, the judging panel from ShelfLife and Excel Recruitment reviewed the submissions and interviewed all of the candidates, and the judges were delighted with the standard of applicants this year, despite all the myriad challenges wrought by the pandemic.

The team at ShelfLife would like to thank all the managers who participated in this year’s Grocery Management Awards programme, kindly sponsored by Bank of Ireland. Impressively, despite the chaos of the pandemic and the massive impact on our grocery sector, this year’s programme attracted in excess of one hundred self-nominated candidates, as well as many more submitted by symbol group and supermarket area managers.

In terms of convenience and grocery retailing, this has been the most difficult year ever and the judges have remarked on how strong the submissions were and how all of the competitors were professional, passionate and driven. Congratulations to all of our competitors, and thank you for your time and participation.

We are currently liaising with venues and will shortly announce a date for the end of November or beginning of December. ShelfLife will ensure that any event is fully compliant with HSE guidelines, as the health and safety of all our competitors, sponsors and the wider community is our highest priority.

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank all our sponsors for your invaluable support of this awards programme, which plays an important role in recognizing and rewards the efforts of Ireland’s inspirational managers.

The short-list and invitations to the event will be sent three weeks before the presentation event, and all details will appear on www.shelflife.ie.
