Setanta introduces the new Setanta Sports/BT Package

Following the signing of a deal with BT to provide its new Sports channels in the Republic of Ireland Setanta Sports has added the BT Sports channels to its commercial premises offering.

Graham Byrne, Head of Commercial Premises Operations for Setanta Sports, explained how these recent developments will affect the Irish market.

“This means that subscribers to the new Setanta Sports pack will have access to five great sports channels,” he said, “Setanta Sports, Premier Sports, BT Sport 1 (HD), BT Sport 2 (HD) & ESPN (HD).”

The package will give soccer fans 71 live matches from the Barclays Premier League. As part of this deal there will also be 18 first pick Premier League games, 18 of the best matches in the pack. Other soccer includes the FA Cup, Scottish Premier League, Champions & Europa League matches and all the best action from Europe’s top leagues.
Rugby fans too will be more than catered for with action from 69 Aviva Premiership games, French Top 14 alongside other codes such as Rugby League and NRL.

This will all be alongside live GAA, Golf, Motorsport, UFC and much more, says Setanta.

28 of the games will kick-off at 12:45pm on Saturdays to be followed by 33 Saturday 3pm games. The remaining games will be mid-week evening games. ?With 18 first-pick matches and these kick-off times, Setanta’s coverage aims to help licensed premises increase footfall.

“While we’ve more than doubled the amount of content available in the package we have not doubled the price,” pointed out Graham Byrne, “We’ve some amazing Early Bird offers which, if availed of, will see premises paying only €20 extra per month for this package.”

This new development gives commercial premises a genuine alternative for showing live sport for the first time. Some participating premises may find that they’re paying 50% less than last season, he added.
