The garden centre grew into ‘The Secret Garden’, the fast-food restaurant speedily gobbled up the name ‘Some like it hot’, the jewellery store sparkled as ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’ and the children’s toy shop played under the title ‘Toy Story’. Oh, and  the local Spar grocery store ‘Spartacus’ got in on the action too.

The festival itself showcased 153 films as well as numerous workshops and seminars, bringing together first-time filmmakers, established directors, producers and assorted film buffs.

Reputable members from the film world – including Lenny Abrahamson and Mike Leigh – were on-set during the Festival which was sponsored by Corona Extra distributors Barry & Fitzwiliam. The festival closed with the ‘It’s a Wrap’ award sceremony after which the celebrations and congratulations carried on into the wee small hours at the newly-opened Courtyard on Schull’s Main Street.
Ruán Morgan won the Best of Festival award for his film Angel.
