The name combines banana with naam, the Thai word for water, reflecting the brand’s Thai origins

Twenty years after opening Saba and bringing contemporary Thai food to Dublin, entrepreneur Paul Cadden is introducing his latest discovery from Thailand: Banam, the world’s first 100% banana water.
Launching in Ireland this autumn, Banam is made from Thai heirloom bananas using a proprietary enzyme-based process that gently releases the naturally occurring water from the fruit.
‘Banana water’
Available in three flavours — Banana Strawberry, Original Banana, and Banana Blueberry.
Each 250ml can contains just 37 calories, with no caffeine, artificial colours or flavours, preservatives or added water.
Commenting Cadden, said: “When I first heard ‘banana water’, I genuinely didn’t know what to expect. Then I tasted it. It was light, refreshing and surprisingly delicious.
“After 20 years working with Thailand through Saba, it feels fitting that our next adventure started there too. Consumers increasingly want simpler ingredients and functional benefits without compromising on taste.
“We believe Banam can create an entirely new drinks category.”
‘Thai origins’
Banam naturally contains nutrients found in bananas, including magnesium, manganese and vitamins A and B6, alongside naturally occurring electrolytes.
The name combines banana with naam, the Thai word for water, reflecting the brand’s Thai origins.
Production also places a strong emphasis on sustainability and reducing waste.
Launching through selected retailers nationwide, Ireland will be the first step in Banam’s ambition to build an Irish-owned international beverage brand.
100% bananas. Nothing else. No monkey business.
‘Life’s better when you go bananas’.
