Commenting on his appointment Robert said, “This is an extraordinarily exciting time for Molson Coors in Ireland. Our horizon is firmly set on expansion across the entire brewing sector from our Carling Brand to our recently-launched Canadian Brand and into what I believe to be the category with phenomenal potential, Craft Beer, both in terms of the domestic market and internationally through Molson Coors’ network”.

Overall in 2013 Molson Coors has experienced growth of 50% in the Irish market versus last year as against an overall lager market decline of 0.7% .

As part of this growth and investment in Ireland, it acquired the Franciscan Well Craft Brewery in Cork earlier this year and has already seen its output expand by 220%. It’s now in the final phase of securing a site in Cork for an expanded Craft Brewery.

Molson Coors Ireland is the country’s fastest-growing brewer with beers such as Carling, Grolsch, Cobra, Blue Moon (RoI & N Ireland), Corona (in N Ireland only) and Coors Light (in N Ireland only) and a range of craft beers from the Franciscan Well brewery in Cork. Established in 2009, it has offices in Maynooth and Belfast and harbours ambitions to be the second-largest beer group within five years.
